My oldest LOVES when I make smoothies, so I decided to try this one this past weekend. It was a hit with all four of us! This recipe was adapted from a smoothie recipe in one of my cookbooks, and my version is completely healthy and supports our whole foods lifestyle. Enjoy!
1 cup crushed ice
10 oz frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries is our favorite mix)
1/2 cup organic plain Kefir
3/4 cup organic orange juice
1 cup organic milk
1 whole banana, sliced
1/8 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
Combine all ingredients in a blender, and blend until combined. You can also combine your ingredients in a pitcher, and blend using a stick blender. Pour into cups, and add a slice of fresh strawberry to the rim for garnish (optional). Makes approximately four 8 oz servings.
